To tackle the housing crisis, his platform champions the creation of a Municipal Development Corporation to build deeply affordable housing directly on underutilized public land. By prioritizing gentle density, infill development, and transit-oriented planning, Evaristo seeks to expand housing options while protecting Guelph’s valued green spaces.
Deeply committed to local community care, Evaristo brings extensive experience in grassroots leadership and advocacy. He is one of the founders of the Guelph Indigenous Community Council (GICC), an organization that brings together urban Indigenous people in Guelph through collaboration, consultation, and a unified community voice. He also serves on the board of the DIYode Community Workshop, a non-profit makerspace dedicated to shared learning, repair, and creative problem-solving. His community work extends to digital equity projects like RezNET and local tenant advocacy supporting residents facing housing pressures. He very recently helped his fellow tenants with a successful reduction of a proposed AGI application.
